Social Media Content Lead

Location:

Hybrid (Toronto/Mississauga)

Salary:

$65,000 - $75,000

About the Role:

StyleDemocracy is looking for a creative and strategic Social Media Content Lead to contribute to and evolve our social presence. This is a high-impact role responsible for developing and executing a platform-specific content strategy that drives engagement, grows our community, and supports both our event and e-commerce business. You'll be at the forefront of content creation--from behind-the-scenes event coverage to on-camera storytelling--shaping how our brand shows up across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.

You'll lead the full content lifecycle: strategy, ideation, execution, analytics, and optimization. If you love creating content, spotting trends early, and thrive in a fast-paced retail and events environment, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

? Develop and implement a comprehensive social media content strategy aligned with company marketing, event, and sales objectives.

? Create individualized strategies for each platform (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest; knowledge of Chinese social platforms is a plus).

? Lead development and execution of a rolling content calendar that reflects key events, partnerships, and seasonal moments.

? Identify trends, audience insights, and competitor activity to inform strategic direction.

Content Creation & Production

? Create compelling social content, including video (Reels, TikToks), carousels, static posts, behind-the-scenes footage, UGC, and live content.

? Write engaging and brand-aligned copy across all content formats.

? Be comfortable and confident creating on-camera content and participating in social storytelling.

? Leverage influencer collaborations and UGC to extend brand reach and authenticity.

? Ensure all content aligns with StyleDemocracy's visual and editorial identity.

Event-Based Content Execution

? Lead pre-event content planning and countdown campaigns.

? Travel to warehouse sales and events (in the GTA) to capture live content and real-time engagement.

? Capture on-site video, testimonials, and day-of highlights for post-event storytelling.

? Develop recap and highlight content to maintain momentum after the event ends.

Community Engagement & Growth

? Monitor and manage daily engagement (comments, DMs, tags), building a sense of community and connection.

? Proactively spark conversations, build relationships with followers, and grow brand loyalty.

Analytics & Optimization

? Track performance across platforms using native tools and third-party software.

? Analyze data to uncover insights and optimize content formats, posting times, and engagement strategies.

? Conduct A/B tests and content experiments to inform ongoing strategy.

? Prepare regular performance reports for internal teams and leadership.

Trendspotting & Innovation

? Stay on top of platform algorithm updates, content trends, and emerging creator tools.

? Identify new opportunities for engagement and differentiation through content.

? Bring creative and experimental ideas to the table regularly.

What You Bring to the Table:

? Proven experience leading social media content strategy and execution across TikTok and Instagram (other platforms a bonus).

? Strong copywriting skills and visual storytelling instincts.

? Hands-on experience creating short-form video content.

? Analytical mindset--you can interpret data and apply insights to improve performance.

? Passion for content creation, staying on top of trends, and trying new things.

? Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple timelines.

Must Haves:

? Able to travel to event locations within the GTA (Toronto, Mississauga, etc.).

? Comfortable working in a hybrid office schedule.

? Confident on camera and excited to represent the brand in video content.

? Passionate about content creation, social trends, and brand storytelling.
