, a methodology that emphasizes game intelligence, creativity, and long-term player development.
We are looking for
qualified, motivated, and team-oriented coaches
to work with age groups U9-U17. Coaches will receive ongoing
mentorship in applying the Xcel Coaching Model
and are expected to fully embrace and buy into the club's coaching philosophy.
Scope
As part of the
Halton Hawks FC Technical Staff
and reporting to the Technical Management Team, this position is responsible for providing leadership and overseeing player development in alignment with the Club's Vision and Mission. The role includes all aspects of a player development program, including (but not limited to):
Games & practices
Off-field activities
Seasonal planning & curriculum
The position requires a dedicated person who is passionate about the game and committed to continuous learning. Mentorship and training will be provided by the Coach Development Manager. Furthermore, the successful candidate will have their
Ontario Soccer coach education covered by the Club
(*conditions apply).
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Technical
Plan, develop, and execute age-appropriate training sessions in line with Ontario Soccer's LTPD and the Xcel Coaching Model.
Travel with the team and attend all practices, games, and festivals.
Support the development of team playing styles consistent with the club's philosophy.
Acquire and maintain relevant coaching certifications required by Ontario Soccer and the District.
Administration
Prepare player evaluations (minimum two per season).
Maintain effective communication with players, parents, and the wider membership.
Assist with internal communications and coordination with club staff.
Other Responsibilities
Training Delivery:
Lead engaging, structured sessions that challenge and inspire players.
Game Coaching:
Manage matches with a focus on player development, performance, and decision-making.
Player Assessment:
Track progress, provide feedback, and support player movement between teams.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the Technical Director and coaching staff to ensure alignment and consistency.
Culture & Standards:
Promote a safe, positive, and professional environment at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
Soccer for Life License (mandatory).
C-License or higher is an asset.
Minimum
2-3 years of coaching experience
at the grassroots or competitive level.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven leadership with the ability to mentor Assistant/Junior Coaches.
Professional, flexible, resourceful, and dependable.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
Current
Vulnerable Sector Police Check
(or ability to obtain).
First Aid/CPR certification (asset).
