Job Description

Pioneer Construction is looking for loyal, hard-working, and self-motivated employees with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Snowplow Truck Driver in Greater Sudbury, Ontario. This is a seasonal position available with competitive wages, pension, and a benefits package.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safely Operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with plows, sanders, and/or water tanks for snow and ice control Assist with the maintenance of company equipment and vehicles, including greasing and cleaning. Plow snow and ice from access roads, driveways, parking lots, work sites, and other areas. Apply salt, sand, or other de-icing materials to required areas. Monitor weather conditions and respond promptly to snow events. Perform mandatory pre and post vehicle inspections Constantly monitor vehicle fitness, load security and ever-changing conditions Maintain accurate electronic hours of service logs and vehicle inspections Secure all loads, materials, and equipment Display professionalism toward our company and customers Must maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment, both interior and exterior Complete City Route/Material/Billing paperwork completely Ability to work long and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays Must be able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Perform other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Valid Class AZ/DZ license is required (preference is given to AZ drivers) Prior experience driving a plow truck is considered an asset. Prior experience driving DZ vehicles is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to operate plow truck and experience in winter works operations Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisor, and management on site Good physical condition with the capability of repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs. and working in inclement weather. Ability to adapt to last minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers. Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental, Human Resources policies
