The Resorts of the Canadian Rockies is looking to fill a full-time year-round Snowmaking Supervisor position at Nakiska Ski Resort. Working closely with the Operations Manager.

You hold the power of the mountain in your hands, you are responsible for everyone enjoying their day on the ski hill. Some of the most important jobs take place when nobody is around to see success. Snowmaking is made by a small group of highly motivated and dedicated groups of the Nakiska team. This can be day or night during the weekend and holidays. You take pride in providing the best vacation and recreation experience possible.

You will:

Directly influence the quality, quantity and location of snow being made.

Consult with the crew leader, snowmaking supervisor and/or assistant regarding specific snow gun placements.

Build an effective and cohesive snowmaking team.

Working with and handling high pressure air and water lines

Supervise/co-ordinate start-up and shutdown of snowmaking plant

Follow all safe operating procedures and report all safety issues to your manager. Monitor equipment and conditions to prevent freezing of equipment and ensure efficient operation of the snowmaking equipment.

Report progress and problems.

Adhere to company safety policies.

Previous experience operating snowmobiles, ATV's and other machinery necessary to the department's operation.

You:

Are physically fit and able to physically negotiate steep and variable terrain without difficulty and assistance on a frequent basis.

Previous experience supervising a crew of staff. Punctual and prepared to perform work duties on time.

Must be able to withstand long outdoor shifts in potentially very cold temperatures.

Have a very strong work ethic and willingness to work as a team and independently.

Be very safety conscious and responsible as you're working with costly equipment.
