Mountain Home Services is searching for on-call Snow Removal Technicians
that live in West Kelowna
to join us for the winter season this year. We are collecting resumes in anticipation of the snow falling. The start date will be dependent on the weather (usually Nov 1 - to Mar 15). We are a year-round full-service landscaping company, so there would be potential to stay on for summer work as well doing landscape maintenance, construction, irrigation & lighting.
We also need applicants who want to work in Lake Country, Kelowna, West Kelowna, and Armstrong.
We are flexible about availability, so don't hesitate to apply if you don't necessarily fall neatly into these two categories, but in general we are looking for 2 types of staff:
1.
Core Staff:
Full-time positions involve individuals being assigned a specific snow route which they will be responsible for throughout the season. Therefore, it is expected that they will be available for their shifts from November 1st to March 15th. Must sign up to be available for 7 full timeslots minimum. This would be ideal for someone who has open availability for a certain shift consistently throughout the week/weekend and can commit to working the full duration of the 8 hour shift at least 3x per week.
2.
Part-time Staff:
These positions require availability for one or two full 8-hour shifts per week, where start and end times may differ.
Individuals must commit to being on-call
and available for at least two full 8-hour periods weekly. This role primarily serves as on-call support during significant events or to cover expected absences.
Both positions must be able to be 24/7 on-call, crews are called out as winter events happen.
Starting at $30.00/hour.
Duties will include:
- Removing snow from properties using a shovel or potentially other machinery (dependent on skill and interest)
- De-icing/salting sidewalks and walkways
- Maintaining a clean and safe job site
- Being available when you say you will be/responding to call outs. This position and the shifts provided solely depends on the weather, so this is a must.
We require that you have the following:
- Have a reliable vehicle and a cell phone
- Provide a clean drivers abstract and criminal record check.
- Proper winter clothing/boots
- Able to work outdoors in winter weather conditions
- Physically fit
- Able to work in a team/take direction or work independently
