Duties

Operate snow plow trucks equipped with hydraulic systems, salt spreaders, and other snow removal equipment to clear snow and ice efficiently. Conduct pre-operation inspections on trucks and plowing equipment to ensure safety and proper functioning. Apply salt or de-icing materials using spreaders attached to the trucks to enhance traction and prevent ice formation. Monitor weather conditions continuously to determine the timing and extent of snow removal efforts. Perform routine maintenance on plow trucks and related machinery, including minor repairs with hand tools or power tools. Communicate effectively with team members regarding route progress, hazards, or equipment issues. Maintain detailed logs of work performed, including areas cleared and materials used, for reporting purposes.

Requirements

Proven mechanical knowledge with experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators or construction equipment is highly desirable. Familiarity with landscaping, lawn care, or landscape maintenance tasks that involve hand tools or power tools is a plus. Prior experience in snow plowing or related winter maintenance activities is preferred. Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on trucks and plowing equipment using hand tools or power tools. Knowledge of safety procedures related to operating heavy machinery in winter conditions. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols diligently.
