We are excited to be recruiting for a Full Time Evening Supervisor for SMITH Restaurant, inside Inn at the Forks.



The hotel is also home to SMITH Restaurant, which opened in September 2014 succeeding the restaurant that was The Current. SMITH is fine fare, done right. Built on craftmanship and a dedication to the finer points, the restaurant celebrates the truth of honest food created from the diversity of the lands and waters of our great country. Every guest is welcomed into the comfort of a warm and modern space to enjoy the richness of an expertly prepared meal, focused on local and seasonal products of Canada. The menu features simple, luxurious food with big flavors from the best local suppliers. SMITH serves Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch, Dinner and Late Night. It has extensive wine, beer, scotch and cocktail menus.

Job Summary:



The Evening Supervisor is responsible for overseeing operations on the floor and assisting with office work as needed. Ensuring the highest standards of customer expectations and services are met or exceeded. Maintaining prompt, courteous, and professional service to guests whenever the situation arises.

Duties:



Responsible for continually assessing all F&B service areas and staff on duty.

Responsible for reading MOD log notes and emails - and responding appropriately.

Responsible for writing a daily MOD log report with updated labour margin %, daily sales, 86 items, guest issues, staff issues and all discounts.

Reviews the current shift, next shift, and current reservations for the week in Open Table/Sevenrooms and reviews staff on hand as well checking BEOs.

Verifies & records petty cash to $1800 and counts bar float to $200.

Performs regular table checks during peak periods to ensure customer expectations and restaurant standards are being met. Any negative feedback should be documented in the MOD logbook, and discussed further if necessary. Positive feedback should always be mentioned to the guest's server.

Ensure that weekly cleaning duties/deep cleaning duties are done during slow hours.

Ensures that actual hours for today's staff are updated on 7shifts. Determines labor costs for the day and records in MOD log.

Ensure Bar PM float is received, recounted and put in safe.

Ensure Bar keys are left on manager's desk for opening the following day.

Responsible for delegating closing duties with PM staff and at midday changeover.

Ensures all "End of day" (EOD) paperwork and reports are done and emailed as required.

Ensure host phone is forwarded correctly, and that patio, solstice room door, beer/wine fridges, liquor cage, and walk-in are locked before leaving for the day.

What you bring to the table:



At least 3+ years of direct Food & Beverage Supervisor experience in a fast paced, fine dining environment

Positive and hardworking attitude

A professional appearance, energetic and outgoing personality

Ability to effectively communicate with team members.

Should be able to work in a team environment and individually.

Fine dining experience is an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
