Slide Attendants facilitate fun, ensure a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience for members, guests, and teammates.Your Responsibilities\xc2\xb7 Prevents injuries by providing public education and responds appropriately when first aid treatment and/or emergency response/rescue is required.\xc2\xb7 Performs slider height checks and monitors slider safety.\xc2\xb7 Will monitor pool areas to a maximum depth of 1.2 m.\xc2\xb7 Performs wristband checks.\xc2\xb7 Monitors the general cleanliness and safety of the aquatic centre area including change rooms and immediately rectifies unclean and/or potentially hazardous conditions in a proactive nature, whenever possible.\xc2\xb7 Help assist with set ups, takes down and safely stores equipment and bulkheads according to a prearranged schedule and does so in a timely and cooperative manner.\xc2\xb7 Provides exceptional service to aquatic Centre users.\xc2\xb7 Coach and mentor volunteers.\xc2\xb7 Will attend all in-service training and monthly skills/fitness challenges.\xc2\xb7 Performs other duties associated with the safe and effective operation of the Aquatic Centre as required by supervisory employees.QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience\xc2\xb7 Minimum 15 years of age.\xc2\xb7 Intermediate First Aid (Standard First Aid) with Level C CPR Certificate is required.\xc2\xb7 Lifesaving Bronze Medallion or Lifesaving Bronze Cross Certificate is required.QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities\xc2\xb7 Enthusiastic\xc2\xb7 Energetic\xc2\xb7 Outgoing\xc2\xb7 Thrive in a team environment, enjoy working as a team member as well as independently.OTHER REQUIREMENTS\xc2\xb7 Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector checkWORKING CONDITIONS\xc2\xb7 While performing the essential functions of this job, some tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort, typically involving some combination of standing, standing at a height, sitting, sitting at a height, crouching, walking, climbing, swimming, performing work while wet and/or performing the aforementioned tasks for extended periods of time.\xc2\xb7 Emergency tasks and regular staff training events involve the performance of physically demanding work, which may involve some combination of running, climbing and/or swimming and may involve lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling heavy objects including distressed persons on land or in the water, including performing work while wet and/or performing the aforementioned tasks for extended periods of time.\xc2\xb7 Slide Attendants must maintain the ability to demonstrate Must See items from the appropriate governing bodys current publication standards to the satisfaction of the employer at all times of scheduled employment.\xc2\xb7 Safe lifting, bending, carrying and rescue techniques and the use of a rescue aid in the water and the coordination of rescue with a second rescuer and rescue aids in the water, when possible, are required.\xc2\xb7 Safe use of employee protective equipment is required.\xc2\xb7 This position requires a flexible schedule including statutory holidays, early morning, late night, and weekend work.SAFETYAll employees are responsible and accountable for Regional Recreation Corporations health and safety policy.
