We are seeking a skilled Slab Assembler to join our manufacturing team. The role involves full-cycle slab assembly, including setup, construction, foaming, and inspection, ensuring each product meets quality standards. The position requires mechanical aptitude, proficiency with hand and power tools, safe material handling, and effective teamwork to meet production targets.



Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards:



Set up and operate various equipment for slab assembly. Construct slabs from start to finish:

Door skin flame treatment - preparing materials for assembly.

Cutting and lamination - accurately cutting and assembling slabs.

Foaming injection - inserting foam between slabs.

Inspection - verifying each slab meets quality standards before shipment or next phase.

Assemble products based on Master Grain shop orders. Palletize completed products for shipment. Verify machine settings and assembly accuracy by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces. Document actions and results in production and quality logs. Maintain continuity among shifts by effectively communicating actions, issues, and needs. Safely move and position workpieces using cranes or proper lifting techniques. Secure workpieces to fixturing for assembly. Collaborate with team members to ensure workflow efficiency and productivity. Maintain safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:



Mechanical aptitude with ability to understand and follow technical instructions. Experience with hand and power tools in a manufacturing or assembly setting. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Previous experience in slab assembly, construction, or related manufacturing is an asset.

Physical Requirements:



Standing for extended periods and performing hands-on assembly tasks. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precision work. Lifting and moving materials up to 50 pounds.

Duties of worker 28. (1) A worker shall,

a. work in compliance with the provisions of this Act and the regulations;

b. use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that the worker's employer requires to be used or worn;

c. report to his or her employer or supervisor the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware and which may endanger himself, herself or another worker; and

d. report to his or her employer or supervisor any contravention of this Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which he or she knows.

(2) No worker shall,

a. remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the regulations or by his or her employer, without providing an adequate temporary protective device and when the need for removing or making ineffective the protective device has ceased, the protective device shall be replaced immediately;

b. use or operate any equipment, machine, device or thing or work in a manner that may endanger himself, herself or any other worker; or

c. engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.
