We have an immediate and unique opportunity for a full-time Maintenance & Engineering Manager based at our Prince George, BC facility. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and a pension program. Relocation assistance may be available for exceptional candidates.
Primary Focus:
General site and plant maintenance, including yard upkeep in all seasons and routine preventative tasks inside and outside the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Handling:
Clean and move distribution equipment; operate light-duty plant vehicles; clear snow with Bobcat; rotate alumina and organize storage buildings/warehouse; assist with parts retrieval.
Plant Maintenance:
Support preventive maintenance and lubrication routes; assist tradespersons with projects and hole watch; aid in passivation; complete maintenance work orders; help with large jobs (e.g., spigot cleaning, boiler annuals).
Cleaning & Site Upkeep:
Weed control; general site cleanup; load plant waste; clean shop and process areas using motorized equipment; liaise with operations daily for task planning.
Material Handling:
Assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory; offload containers; help with H2O2 packaging, labeling, and cleaning.
Administrative Support:
Provide vacation relief in stores; assist team members as needed; perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma
Physically fit for labor tasks (lifting, shoveling, equipment operation, standing and walking for long periods, stairs, bending, twisting).
Computer skills; Microsoft applications, email communication etc.
Valid Class 5 driver's license with abstract.
Forklift/Bobcat certification an asset.
Self-directed, motivated, team player with strong communication skills.
Preference for candidates pursuing industrial education or with related experience.
Salary: The specific starting pay will be based on the candidate's professional experience, demonstrated competencies, and alignment with our internal compensation structure.
