Our core businesses include Mobile Crane & Rigging, Highway Infrastructure Maintenance and Construction, On / Off Highway Bulk Commodity Hauling, Specialized Heavy Hauling, Oilfield Services, Mine Contracting, Proppant Supply and Logistics, and General On-Site Services.

We are looking to expand our operations areas and are preparing a response to an RFP announced by Parsons Corporation for the Giant Mine Reclamation Project.

As such, LaPrairie is looking for qualified professionals to join our Team should we be successful in procuring the contract for this project.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Site Supervisor will supervise site operations of the project. The Site Supervisor will be directly responsible for compliance with all safety, environment regulations and QA/QC norms while ensuring work is performed on time and on budget. The Site Supervisor will ensure safe, uninterrupted operations, will report on a range of operational milestones, key performance indicators and statistics as required by the contract. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities, Include, but are not limited to:

  • Adhere to and follow all Client and LaPrairie\'s SOP\'s, policies and procedures, with a strong focus on safety and environment polices
  • Ensure all employees and visitors at the site adhere to and follow all Client and LaPrairie\'s SOP\'s, policies and procedures
  • Acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of scope, specifications, contract, documentation requirements and planned field activities
  • Manage the execution of the scope of work within timelines and budget
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
  • Ensure quality of work is maintained according to Quality Control and Quality Assurance guidelines
  • Train employees in the proper disposal of waste materials
  • Provide training with the most recent version of SOP
  • Review and approve changes to the EPP
  • Provide technical direction and serve as consultant to the Project team on technical issues
  • Perform audits
  • Produce all required reporting in a detailed, accurate and timely manner
  • Review and approve Project reports
  • Maintain all required documentation related to site staff, equipment, materials and other assets as per document control guidelines
  • Maintain a daily record of site operations and assess for improvements
  • Manage equipment availability and utilization rates
  • Create schedules for site staff, assign tasks and effectively supervise task progress
  • Ensure all staff are trained and competent in the performance of their assigned duties
  • Conduct regular safety meetings
  • Coordinate deliveries of material and equipment with suppliers and vendors
  • Work with project team members to execute the scope efficiently and within the timelines and budget allotted
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Minimum of 3 years\' experience in a leadership role at a Supervisor level with demonstrated motivating, training, appraising and general supervisory skills.
  • 5+ years of experience with the operation of heavy surface mobile equipment or maintenance of electrical distribution system or electrical and mechanical maintenance of stationary equipment
  • Must have a WSCC Supervisor Level I Certificate
  • Possess a standard first aid certificate in good standing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
  • Must work independently and plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc.
  • Leadership ability and team building skills to effectively supervise professional and non-professional staff required.
  • Review project scope and recommend the crew and equipment to complete the tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written).
  • Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, presentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities capable of handling pressure and challenges.
  • Comprehensive understanding of local, territorial, and federal construction regulations.
  • A candidate with a professional designation of CET, PMP, or P. Eng. would be considered an asset.
