Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Superintendent to oversee construction of 3-storey, multi-unit building from inception to completion in Sault Ste. Marie. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, a thorough understanding of construction processes, and proficiency in various construction management software. We are looking for someone who resides in close proximity to the project.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate all construction activities on-site to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety regulations. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to facilitate effective communication and project execution. Review blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements and ensure accurate implementation. Conduct regular quality control inspections to maintain high standards of workmanship throughout the project lifecycle. Manage project budgets, including estimating costs and monitoring expenses to prevent overruns. Supervise site personnel, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and efficient work practices. Prepare daily reports on site activities, progress updates, and any issues that arise during construction. Utilize various software for project management, scheduling, documentation, etc.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Site Superintendent or in a similar role within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of construction estimating techniques and budgeting processes. Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding of schematics for effective project execution. Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining quality control throughout all phases of construction. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Relevant certifications in construction management or safety training are advantageous.
