This is a full-time, site-based role in Prince Rupert.

Role Overview



The Site Superintendent will oversee all day-to-day construction activities for a new 4-storey wood-frame multifamily development. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional organization, and the ability to manage schedules, crews, trades, safety, quality control, and consultant coordination in a remote project environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the project to completion on time, on budget, and to Verity Construction's quality standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesConstruction Management & Scheduling



Lead, coordinate, and supervise all on-site construction personnel and subcontractors. Maintain the master construction schedule; forecast manpower and sequencing. Plan daily/weekly site operations with attention to logistics and material flow in a remote setting.

Quality Assurance & Technical Oversight



Ensure work complies with BC Building Code, municipal requirements, consultant specifications, and Verity quality standards. Review drawings, RFIs, addendums, and changes; resolve coordination issues. Perform daily quality checks; maintain deficiency logs and turnover readiness.

Safety Leadership



Enforce Verity's safety program and WorkSafeBC requirements. Conduct toolbox talks, site orientations, and hazard assessments. Maintain safe site conditions appropriate for a northern/coastal climate.

Communication & Reporting



Liaise with the Project Manager, consultants, inspectors, and local authorities. Maintain clear daily site reports, photos, workforce lists, and schedules. Coordinate trade meetings and ensure timely follow-up on action items.

Logistics & Remote Work Considerations



Manage ordering, deliveries, and storage of materials in a remote environment. Coordinate travel, accommodation/vendor needs for rotating trades. Anticipate weather constraints and regional labour limitations.

Required Qualifications



Minimum 5+ years experience in wood-frame construction, including site superintendent roles on 4- to 6-storey multifamily projects. Strong knowledge of BC Building Code (Part 3), municipal inspection processes, and multifamily detailing. Proven ability to run remote or northern construction projects is an asset. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Proficient with construction software (MS Project, Procore, SiteMax, or similar). Valid driver's licence; ability to work in a remote community for extended periods.
