JOB SUMMARY
Hestia is looking for a Site Superintendent who are responsible for leading and managing all site activities. This will include daily coordination, supervision of resources and materials, as well as ensuring compliance of all safety regulations, for the life cycle of the project. This individual will be highly knowledgeable at promoting an engaged and accountable workforce. You will apply sound knowledge of construction methods and work cooperatively with trade partners to ensure work is completed on time, to scope and on budget. This role will report to the Manger of Construction and will work closely with our Project Manager to collaborate as a team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate all on-site activities, including schedules, budgeting and resource allocation, ensure the completion of the project delivered to Hestia's standards
Responsible for interpreting plans and specifications, problem solving in accordance with the most recent project plans
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, material orders and progress reports
Communicate with trade partners and suppliers regarding project specification for delivery and installation
Coach and mentor site team members, manage daily tasks and approve time sheets
Oversee the work of subcontractors and other construction related personnel
Provide guidance, feedback and updates at project meetings and to stakeholders
Monitor and guide compliance with Hestia Safety Program and relevant safety legislation, ensure a safe working environment
Keep current in building best practices and knowledge of industry changes, including technical job skills
Other duties may be required or requested of you
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent
Proven 5 to 10 years of experience in large construction projects
Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods and materials
Excellent organizational, communication, leadership and time-management skills
Strong understanding of safety practices or certification in first aid
Valid driver's license and own a reliable vehicle
Experience with using MS Office applications
Experience with Procore is an asset
Any certification from the ACSA is an asset
