Monitor day-to-day site safety conditions and ensure compliance with Nova Scotia OHS regulations
Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and toolbox talks
Maintain safety records, reports, and incident/near-miss documentation
Support implementation of the company's Health & Safety Policy
Provide safety orientation and training to workers and subcontractors
Assist supervisors with corrective actions and accident investigations
Ensure proper use of PPE and fall protection equipment on site
Communicate with management, clients, and regulatory agencies regarding safety issues
Prepare and manage safety-related paperwork, including forms, reports, and documentation
Requirements
Completion of high school (required); post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety considered an asset
Experience in accounting, engineering, marketing, or administrative tasks is an asset
Valid safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, Fall Protection, First Aid/CPR)
Knowledge of Nova Scotia Occupational Health & Safety Act and construction site regulations
Strong communication and reporting skills (Chinese required)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in construction safety preferred (training available)
Experience in accounting, engineering, marketing, or administrative tasks is an asset
Proficient in office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail for document control, filing, and report preparation
