The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP\'s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewan\'s history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.

Jansen\'s construction will take place over several years with first production planned for late 2026. Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. Work Location

This role will be based at the Jansen Mine Site located in Leroy, SK. The associated work schedule will be Monday to Friday, 50 hours per week. This role is eligible for camp accommodation.

Purpose

Reporting to the Potash Project Director, the Site Manager Delivery provides senior leadership to teams focused on execution of construction strategies, standards/ frameworks and interface management across the JS1 and JS2 project lifecycle to ensure delivery in line with the approved statement of requirements. This role integrates plans and activities across functional boundaries to deliver a strategy for safe productivity.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

Explores and iteratively reassesses the best fit solutions, takes ownership of project decisions and outcomes and monitors and manages impacts to value across the project lifecycle (e.g. social, environmental, commercial).

Develops integrated project deliverables and integrates project work across projects through interfacing with stakeholders and managing the successful transition of project/phase closure.

Develops and implements project turnover processes and executes commissioning/handover activities to facilitate the successful commissioning of equipment/projects across BHP.

Acts as BHP\'s nominated \xe2\x80\x9cPrime Contractor\xe2\x80\x9d for the site and has legal responsibility under SK law to ensure the \xe2\x80\x9cco-ordination of Safety\xe2\x80\x9d is managed effectively to minimize and mitigate workplace Safety exposures.

The lead Incident Management Team (IMT) Commander for the Jansen Mine Site ensuring an effective co-ordinated response to any site based emergency.

Responsible for consistent application of HSE standards within the program; monitors HSE compliance and applies appropriate methodologies/standards to effectively deliver the Jansen program.

Defines project objectives/schedules, identifies critical activities, monitors the project plan/schedule and drives continuous improvement initiatives across projects at BHP.

Monitors and manages project performance to deliver projects in line with safety standards, requirements, budget and scope.

Manages contract execution and analysis to maximize operational and financial performance and mitigate exposure and risk.

Determines the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems.

About You

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant construction engineering and construction management experience in major projects
$1B with Contractor and EPCM level exposure * Site construction experience in Canada and Saskatchewan
  • 7+ year\'s experience in Project Management and Leadership Roles
  • Previous experience in global mining industry, including production, technical management and/or project management roles with a track record of project delivery
  • Deep functional knowledge of industry leading HSE, constructability and construction management practices in a multi discipline engineering and site construction environment including modularization
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage, influence and build solid working relationships with stakeholders, peers, vendors, fabricators, engineering, EPCM partners and construction contractors
  • Experience in working across different disciplines and in a global context.
  • Ability to work flexible across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Communication and influencing skills will be a key requirement
