This position is located in Northern Saskatchewan at the McClean Lake mine.
The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing employee travel, onboarding, training, scheduling, safety compliance, and client relations at the McClean Lake site. This role ensures smooth workforce operations, supports staffing requirements, and maintains compliance with occupational health and safety standards. The position requires strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills to manage a wide range of administrative and safety responsibilities in a remote work environment.
Essential Job Functions
Employee Logistics & Scheduling:
Coordinate and book flights and accommodations for site staff.
Maintain and monitor staff schedules, timesheets, and man hours.
Recruitment & Onboarding:
Support hiring efforts by building relationships with community Employment Coordinators and Job Coaches.
Maintain a database of resumes and referrals to ensure adequate staffing for janitorial and security positions.
Prepare hire-on packages and coordinate pre-employment requirements, including First Aid certification, drug & alcohol testing, criminal record checks, and driver's license verification
Register new employees for site orientation and ensure training checklists are completed.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Conduct inspections of AEDs, fire extinguishers, canoes, life jackets, and CCTV cameras; report deficiencies for corrective action.
Maintain safety statistics, including first aid incidents, near misses, modified work agreements, lost-time accidents, spills, and chemical contacts.
Ensure safety programs are followed (daily hazard assessments, weekly tailgate meetings, post-incident reviews, and quarterly OHS meetings).
Assist with vehicle inspections and review staff safety reports and Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs).
Respond to emergency and safety situations, including muster point headcounts, spills, and other client safety requests.
Client & Site Relations:
Serve as the primary point of contact for client requests and site-related issues.
Deliver patrol logs daily and maintain professional communication with site leadership.
Keep phone and radio available 24/7 for emergency staff and lodge personnel needs.
Other duties as assigned.
Technical Skills
Knowledge of various security systems, such as access control systems, video surveillance systems, intrusion detection systems, and alarm systems
Understanding risk analysis methodologies, evaluating physical and digital security risks, and developing risk management strategies.
Creating emergency procedures, coordinating response efforts during crises, and effectively managing security incidents
Ability to prepare accurate and detailed reports, incident documentation, and security-related documentation
Interpersonal Skills
Ability to remain calm, mediate conflicts, and find mutually acceptable resolutions.
Adaptability to changing circumstances, think quickly on feet, and make appropriate decisions.
Maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information responsibly, and adhere to professional codes of conduct.
