The Site Foreman is responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations on projects, including excavation and base work, asphalt paving, concrete installation, and sewer and water. This role works closely with the Director of Operations to ensure all crews perform work safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. The Field Site Supervisor serves as the primary on-site leader, ensuring quality standards, production expectations, and company policies are met across all active projects.
Field Operations & Crew Oversight
Supervise and coordinate all field crews across assigned projects.
Ensure crews are meeting production, quality, and safety expectations.
Provide daily direction to foremen and crew leads.
Monitor workmanship to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and industry standards.
Address field issues promptly to minimize delays and rework.
Project Execution & Budget Control
Track daily production and labor costs to ensure work is completed within budget.
Identify potential cost overruns and communicate concerns to the Director of Operations.
Assist with scheduling manpower, equipment, and materials to optimize efficiency.
Review daily reports, quantities, and progress against project schedules.
Coordination & Communication
Act as the liaison between field crews and the Director of Operations.
Coordinate with subcontractors, inspectors, engineers, and project managers as needed.
Participate in project planning, job start-up meetings, and progress meetings.
Ensure accurate and timely communication of project requirements to field staff.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce company safety policies at all job sites.
Conduct regular site safety inspections and toolbox talks.
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulations.
Promote a culture of safety and accountability among crews.
Quality Control
Oversee testing and inspections related to asphalt, concrete, and underground utilities.
Identify and correct deficiencies before they impact project timelines or budgets.
Equipment & Materials Management
Monitor proper use and care of company equipment.
Coordinate equipment needs, maintenance, and repairs.
Ensure materials are ordered, delivered, and used efficiently to avoid waste.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in road construction.
Strong knowledge of:
Excavation and base preparation
Asphalt paving
Concrete work
Sewer and water installation
Proven experience supervising multiple crews and job sites.
Strong understanding of construction budgets, production tracking, and cost control.
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites.
