to lead on-site crews and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulations. This role is hands-on, requiring leadership, problem-solving, and a strong understanding of asbestos removal procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise asbestos abatement crews on-site
Set up and maintain proper containment and decontamination systems
Ensure all workers follow safe work procedures and wear proper PPE
Communicate with the Project Manager regarding progress, issues, and needs
Monitor air quality and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements
Conduct daily safety meetings and complete site documentation
Oversee equipment use, cleaning, and maintenance
Train and mentor crew members in safe and effective abatement practices
Qualifications:
Valid provincial Asbestos Abatement Supervisor/Worker certification
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in asbestos abatement (leadership preferred)
Knowledge of asbestos regulations
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to read and follow work plans, hazard assessments, and specifications
Physically fit and able to work in PPE and confined spaces if required
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Working Conditions:
On-site field work in various environments
Must wear full PPE and respiratory protection as required
