Job Description

Reporting to the COO, the Site Coordinator in New Glasgow is the face of our IGNITE site in the Northern Region. This role is central to creating a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for founders, coworkers, partners, and visitors.

The Site Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the coworking space, support community-building activities, coordinate events, supervise interns, and serve as a primary point of contact for our founders.

This is a highly people-facing role that requires empathy, approachability, strong collaboration skills, and a genuine passion for helping others succeed.

Key Responsibilities



Community & Space Experience

Create a friendly, inclusive, and professional first impression for everyone entering the space. Greet members, founders, partners, and visitors and help them feel comfortable and supported. Foster a strong sense of community among coworkers, resident companies, tenants, and visitors. Build and maintain positive relationships with members and respond to inquiries with care and professionalism. Assist new coworkers and founders with onboarding, including tours, orientation, and equipment setup. Oversee daily operations of the space, ensuring it is clean, organized, functional, and welcoming.
Coworking Space Operations

Manage memberships, bookings, invoicing, payments, and membership agreements. Coordinate meeting room bookings and ensure smooth setup and check-in processes. Monitor access control and security of the space, including key fob access. Troubleshoot basic technical issues (internet, printers, AV equipment). Manage incoming mail and packages for members and tenants. Maintain inventory of office supplies, snacks, swag, and amenities. Ensure common areas, kitchens, and meeting rooms are tidy and ready for use. Gather member feedback to help improve services and amenities.
Event Coordination & Programming

Plan, coordinate, and deliver events, workshops, and community programming. Work with internal team members and external partners to develop event concepts, timelines, and budgets. Support event marketing through digital content, email campaigns, and social media. Manage registrations, logistics, guest check-in, and on-site coordination. Oversee event setup and teardown and support speakers, partners, and attendees. Conduct post-event evaluations and share insights for continuous improvement.
Intern Supervision & Mentorship

Welcome interns and provide onboarding, training, and organizational context. Assign meaningful work aligned with interns' learning goals. Provide mentorship, guidance, and regular feedback. Foster a supportive learning environment and encourage professional growth. Ensure clear communication and address challenges as they arise.
Founder & Startup Engagement

Act as the main point of contact for startup founders and resident companies in the Northern Region. Build trusted, supportive relationships with founders by being approachable, responsive, and welcoming. Provide one-on-one coaching and guidance to founders, informed by personal experience as a founder or entrepreneur. Support startups with applications, pitch preparation, lean canvases, business plans, and other business documentation. Connect founders to relevant programs, partners, funders, and external resources. Play a key role in attracting and retaining resident companies by delivering an exceptional founder experience. Educate and support founders in adopting business tools and processes, including practical applications of AI.
General Responsibilities

Act as an ambassador for IGNITE and its values in the community. Collaborate closely with the IGNITE team and partner organizations. Support youth programming, startup initiatives, and special projects as needed. Deliver consistently high-quality customer service. Contribute to a positive, team-oriented workplace culture.
Qualifications & Experience

Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to make people feel welcome and supported. Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse groups. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Comfortable working independently while contributing as part of a collaborative team. Experience in coworking environments, community building, event coordination, customer service, or marketing is an asset. Comfort with basic technology and willingness to learn new tools and systems. Experience as a founder, entrepreneur, or early-stage startup operator an asset

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
