The Company

B2Gold is a low-cost international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has three operating gold mines and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Canada, Mali, the Philippines, Namibia, Columbia, Finland, and Uzbekistan. This year, B2Gold forecasts gold production to be 1,000,000- 1,080,000 ounces.

Position

Site Assistant Controller, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Site Controller, Goose Site, this position will be a fly in- fly out 6x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

• Support in the planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating the financial functioning of the project;
• Assist in the Preparation of cost centers financial statements, summaries, and other cost-benefit analyses and financial management reports;
• Collaborate with the Corporate Finance, Permitting and Environmental, Exploration, and other Site teams as required;
• Develop and maintain key external relationships with consultants, EPC contractors, and external stakeholders;
• Assist in the Analyzing and forecasting project costs, and develop, prepare, collect, and analyze schedule and cost data on a weekly and monthly basis to assist the management of the project preparation of weekly and monthly reports;
• Review contractor, vendor, and consultant invoices for capital projects;
• Assisting with vendor management by ensuring that Supply Chain and Accounts Payable function delivers quality services to the vendors;
• Prepare the month end reconciliations for review by the Site Controller; and
• Participate in Ad hoc projects and tasks as they arise.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

• Seven (7) years of progressive experience in a project or cost accounting roles. Preference given to those with experience in the mining and/or heavy construction industry;
• Bachelor of Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Commerce or Finance;
• Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation;
• Familiarity with engineering controls, cost control, accounts payable/receivable, project planning/scheduling, project reporting, construction management, capital projects, and document control;
• Demonstrated working knowledge of the supply chain and logistic functions in remote locations and projects; and
• Good communication skills, attention to detail, problem solving, and business acumen.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the annual salary for this role is $150,000.00 plus 15% Bonus. B2Gold Nunavut offers a competitive compensation package, including salary commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills, plus a group benefits package for employees and their dependents.
