The Simulation Coordinator, Site Expansion Lead, Anesthesiology (Thunder Bay), will report to the Program Director and will liaise closely with the program's Thunder Bay Site Director, Simulation Coordinator and Academic Coordinator.


Responsibilities

Summary of Functions




In conjunction with the Thunder Bay Site Director, Simulation Coordinator and the Academic Coordinator, the Anesthesiology Simulation Coordinator, Site Expansion Lead (Thunder Bay), is responsible for the planning, organizing, coordinating, and the quality of all Simulation sessions for the Royal College Anesthesiology program in Thunder Bay.


Key Responsibilities




Coordinating, developing and overseeing the Simulation sessions for Anesthesiology residents as part of the regular academic curriculum ensuring that they align with CanNASC content Collaborating with other faculty members to develop and deliver Simulation sessions Assuring the quality review, responsiveness and relevancy of the Simulation sessions in regard to residents' educational needs Monitoring the content and evaluations of the Simulation sessions Liaising with Residency Program Committee (RPC) to review Simulation sessions Identifying faculty development needs for simulation education Participating in other required committees and activities

Qualifications


------------------


Education




An anesthesiologist licensed in Ontario, practicing in Northern Ontario, with certification from the RCPSC (or equivalent as determined by the Associate Dean, Postgraduate Medical Education A current faculty appointment (or eligibility for same) with NOSM University

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities




Substantial knowledge of, and exposure to, the issues faced by regional and rural medical education Significant experience in the health care and academic sectors Self-motivated and directed Superior interpersonal, communication, management and problem-solving skills

Language




Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbally, written and comprehension) French/Indigenous language skills would be considered asset

As per the stipendiary faculty remuneration process

Time Commitment
