Position Summary:
Bob Rumball Canadian Centre of Excellence for the Deaf is committed to empowering individuals with diverse needs to live independently and thrive in their communities. We provide person-centered, evidence-based support to ensure each client achieves their goals while maintaining the highest standards of care and safety.
Reporting to the SIL Manager, the SIL Supervisor will lead the implementation, evaluation, and ongoing development of community programming across two Supported Independent Living programs in Milton and Toronto. This role provides supervision and coaching to frontline staff, ensures quality client-centered services, and supports day-to-day program operations in compliance with agency policies and Ministry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Staff Supervision
Lead, mentor, and support SIL staff, providing coaching, performance monitoring, and input on appraisals.
Participate in staff recruitment, orientation, and training.
Ensure staff compliance with agency policies, health and safety standards, and ministry regulations.
Client Services & Advocacy
Oversee development, implementation, and evaluation of Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and Person-Directed Plans (PDPs).
Conduct home visits, advocate for clients, and coordinate with families, caregivers, and community partners.
Provide direct crisis intervention support as required.
Promote inclusion, accessibility, and evidence-based best practices.
Program Administration & Finance
Maintain client records, files, and logs, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Monitor and manage program budgets, petty cash, and purchasing as required.
Support scheduling and workload distribution among staff.
Compile program statistics and participate in service evaluation and reporting.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Promote a safe and harassment-free work environment.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act, Employment Standards Act, and Ministry licensing standards.
Conduct regular audits of client binders, medication administration, and safety procedures.
Qualifications:
Degree in Human Services or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in community programming or supporting individuals with mental health needs, challenging behaviours, autism, and/or dual diagnosis.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and community partners.
Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook, ShareVision).
Valid Ontario driver's license.
French or LSQ is an asset.
Membership or eligibility for membership in a recognized college in the field is an asset.
