Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Signals Maintainer | Signalman who is passionate about safety, enjoys working outdoors, and is committed to maintaining and repairing railway signaling systems.

If you have at least two years of full-time work experience in signals and are signals qualified, this opportunity is for you.

What You'll Do:

Perform moderate to heavy physical labor on an assigned area of the track, including tasks such as signal equipment installation, installing ground systems, and digging holes and trenches for laying cable Install conduit and/or ducts, and set concrete piers Make electrical connections of rail and report the color of the signal Load and unload heavy materials such as tools and equipment Clear railway crossings of brush and tall grass using handheld tools and equipment Work as part of a team performing heavy labor related to railway signaling systems, construction, and maintenance Participate in job briefings and demonstrate the ability to follow instructions and work safely Occasionally drive company vehicles

What is Required:

Possess at least 2 years of full-time work experience in signals Signals qualified Have education and/or experience in Electronics/Electrical Be a strong communicator - your safety depends on it! Be willing to undergo pre-employment testing including a criminal record check, drug, alcohol, and fitness fit-for-duty testing, as a condition of employment Previous railway or construction experience is considered an asset Hold a full (non-GDL) valid class 5 driver's license Be willing to purchase 8-inch CBA-approved work boots Be willing to travel to remote locations and be away from home for extended periods of time Have physical dexterity and no acrophobia (fear of heights) Be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
