Sign Installer
to join our team.
Job responsibilities:
Working knowledge of sign industry and installation methods, including proper fastening techniques, responsible for the installation, maintenance, and service of commercial signs.
Knowledge and experience with electrical equipment and components, including but not limited to wiring sign components and low voltage LED systems, changing power supplies, ballasts, and lamps.
Possesses basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers and fractions and converting fractions to decimals and vice versa) Experience with both imperial and metric measurement in both decimal and fractions is a must
Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
Determine layout and installation procedures. Perform comprehensive surveys.
Track jobs & paperwork communicating to both the office and clients via phone and email, with some on-site meetings with clients
Sign Diagnosis and troubleshooting
Customer communication is paramount. The successful candidate must provide top notch customer service and be able to explain technical issues quickly and efficiently
Build and sustains effective relationships with team members in all other departments, may include supervisory/mentoring responsibilities
Perform quality assurance measures pre and postproduction/installation, take photos
Must be able to work independently, be accountable, reliable, and flexible, with a strong attention to details and quality. Must maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
Innovative to increase efficiency, quality, and cost savings
Perform proper rigging and lifting techniques, utilize various types of hydraulic hoists and cranes
Execute routine machine maintenance and minor repairs when necessary
Adhere to related safety regulations including but not limited to Alberta and BC's Occupational Health and Safety
Act and the organization's safety policies and procedures
We're looking for someone who may already have these skills, but are open to providing training/growth opportunities in these areas to the right person:
Has a great attitude and is ready to learn new skills in a high paced and creative environment
Perform services such as electrical hook ups, cleaning, painting, bulb, and ballast replacement, etc. Proficient with electrical components names and terminology an asset
Experience with various electrical hand tools including but not limited to, strippers, plyers, and volt metres
Has the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, lift 75 or more pounds repetitively throughout the workday and the flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back forth hand motions
Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms
Load and unload trucks with supplies and equipment
Vinyl material preparation and manipulation including application, cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, and maintaining
Finishing tasks such as laminating, encapsulating, and/or mounting of printed pieces
Install, repair and service interior or exterior prefabricated products, general construction/assembly skills an asset
Solid verbal & written communication skills, strong computer/tablet/smart phone skills
Mechanical skills and problem solving/critical thinking skills using logic and reasoning
Requirements:
Must have a valid Drivers License (air brakes would be an asset) & clean current with in 30-day driver abstract
Able to pull long flat bed trailers
Heavy Truck and Boom/Crane Truck Experience or Certification an asset
Handling heavy loads, operate scissor, boom, and bucket truck lifting equipment
Able to work in outdoor conditions year-round including adverse weather conditions (i.e., excessive heat and cold, wind, rain, and snow)
Must be physically able to lift/maneuver large sheets of material (4'x8?) and up to 75 lbs
Ability to work at heights above ground safely
Physically demanding, fast-paced environment, with repetitive tasks
Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
Training Certs necessary Fall Arrest & Aerial Platform, POST Training yearly
