REAL-R is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sign Installer to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. The Sign Installer is responsible for the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and removal of a variety of interior and exterior signage, including illuminated, non-illuminated, vinyl, and dimensional signs. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Install, repair, and remove a wide range of signs at client locations, including but not limited to channel letters, pylon signs, monument signs, banners, vinyl graphics, and wayfinding signage.
Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and installation instructions to ensure accurate placement and mounting of signs.
Safely operate power tools, hand tools, ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
Perform site surveys to assess installation requirements and identify potential challenges.
Load, transport, and unload signage and materials to and from job sites using company vehicles.
Ensure all installations comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
Communicate professionally with clients and team members to ensure project expectations are met.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, both in the shop and on job sites.
Complete required paperwork, including installation reports and timesheets.
Assist with sign fabrication and shop duties as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trades training is an asset.
Previous experience in sign installation, construction, carpentry, or a related field is preferred.
Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to safely lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
Proficient with power tools, hand tools, and basic construction techniques.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as required by project schedules.
Fall protection, aerial lift, or other safety certifications are an asset (training can be provided).
Experience with the print production software and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) would be an asset.
