We currently have a \'Part-Time Contract - Hospitality Shuttle Driver opportunity at Silvera for Seniors. It\'s a 1 year contract (can be extended according to business needs) based out of our Westview Town Suites facility located at 5050-50 Ave. SW. Reporting to the Community Manager this position is responsible to ensuring exceptional customer service by providing safe and timely alternate transportation for the senior residents of Westview Town Suites. The Driver is responsible for transporting and chaperoning (as required), residents, staff and volunteers on outings including errands, recreational programs, and special events. The successful candidate is organized, dedicated, patient and a very personable individual that works well under pressure, can multi-task and communicate well while delivering value.

Shift times may vary, and the applicants might be required to work on days and hours apart from the ones mentioned below.
  • Tuesday - 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
  • Wednesday - 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
  • Thursday - 11:30 am to 8:00 pm
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Pick up seniors and staff members from the community and transport them to their appointments or activities
  • Inspect and maintain the vehicle(s) and all related equipment\'s, putting in repair requests as necessary to maintain safe operation.
  • Assist seniors as required to enter and exit vehicle safely
  • Listen to traffic and weather reports to stay up to date on road conditions to ensure safe travels.
  • Working independently and adhere to scheduled routes, as well as ad hoc requests,
  • Expected to perform a series of routine duties such as logging mileage, cleaning vehicles, performing pre and post vehicle inspections and reporting defects and malfunctions to management.
REQUIREMENT AND SKILLS
  • Available Monday to Friday AM and PM shifts
  • Shuttle drivers require a Valid Class 4 driver\'s license or higher
  • Minimum 6 years of consecutive insured winter driving experience
  • Clean drivers abstract, and criminal record check
  • Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50)
  • Familiarity with GPS devices
  • Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Availability to occasionally take weekend and night shifts if required.
  • A polite and professional disposition
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)
