Job Description


THOAR Mining provides a wide variety of services in the support and operation of mining, ranging from project management, supervision, underground construction, maintenance, and mining equipment operation.

We have an immediate need for a highly motivated, safety conscious Shut Down Journeyperson Millwrights at the Key Lake, SK uranium mine site. These positions are on a temporary contract basis with the project anticipated to run from June 22, 2023 through to August 3, 2023, with the possibility of an extension or transition to other projects.

You will need to be available for a two week on, two week off rotation. This is a fly-in, fly-out position with camp accommodations and meals provided during your shift. You will be working 12 hour day and night shifts.

As a Millwright / Industrial, you will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of site-specific equipment for the operation of the Mill, including assessment, repair, rebuild, and alignment of mechanical assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Servicing, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and mining equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, agitators, fans, etc.;
  • Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions, diagnose equipment problems, and repair accordingly;
  • Follow instructions precisely with the ability to carry out daily work instructions in a timely and efficient manner with limited supervision;
  • Perform individual tasks and work effectively as part of the team to ensure productivity and efficiency;
  • Finding creative solutions and effective problem solving of issues that arise;
  • Communication and cohesive alignment with other departments in the mine;
  • Maintain and support equipment records and repair history;
  • Provide data for cause and failure analysis;
  • Take part in planning and scheduling within the work system;
  • Work safely and collaboratively as part of a crew.
Qualifications:
  • Journeyperson Certificate of Qualification from the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship & Trade Certification Commission as a Journeyperson Millwright / Industrial Mechanic is preferred, fourth year apprentices will also be considered;
  • Industrial/mining experience considered an asset;
  • Valid First Aid/ CPR certificates;
  • Valid WHMIS and SCOT;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and constructively within a team environment. Good verbal and written communication;
  • Computer experience required for recordkeeping and documentation;
  • Commitment to safe work practices and achieved an excellent safety record;
  • Possess a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and a clean driving record.

  • Proof of full vaccination will be required;
  • A pre-employment drug test will be required.
