Company Overview

We are a fast-paced truck and trailer repair shop in London, ON, specializing in fleet maintenance, structural repairs, welding, and hydraulic liftgate installations. We are also an authorized warranty facility for truck body manufacturers and liftgates.

Requirements:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to oversee daily operations in our fast-paced structural repair shop. The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of industry experience, excellent organizational and leadership skills, and the ability to manage and develop a team with varying levels of experience.

This position requires a proactive individual who can maintain high-quality standards, enforce safety and compliance, and foster a positive, productive work environment. The Team Leader will work closely with senior management to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and coordinate daily workflow in the shop. Ensure all work meets company standards for quality, safety, and efficiency. Work ahead of schedule and ensure all technicians have the proper parts to complete their job Work directly with Shop Forman on quality control and process improvement. Collaborate with General Manager and President on timelines, safety compliance, and employee performance.

Details of Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and coordinate daily workflow in the shop.

Plan and assign daily workorders to ensure efficient workflow. Prioritize repairs based on urgency, and customer timelines. Monitor work progress throughout the day, adjusting assignments as needed to maintain productivity. Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and materials to minimize waste and downtime.
2. Ensure all work meets company standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.

Conduct regular inspections of ongoing jobs to verify quality workmanship and adherence to specifications with assistance from the Shop Forman Identify and correct deficiencies before work is completed Promote efficient work methods without compromising quality or safety standards.
3. Work ahead of schedule and ensure all technicians have the proper parts to complete their job

Work with each technician and parts to have all parts ordered in a timely manner Do check ins with each technician to see if they need anything to complete their workorder
4. Work directly with Shop Forman on quality control and process improvement

Work collaboratively with technicians and the parts department to ensure all required components are identified and ordered promptly. Monitor parts availability and delivery timelines to minimize downtime and prevent delays in repair completion. Verify that work orders are properly supported with the necessary materials before work begins.
5. Collaborate with General Manager and President on timelines, safety compliance, and employee performance.

Coordinate repair schedules and ensure projects are completed on time. Monitor employee performance, attendance, and overall work habits; provide input for evaluations. Support corrective actions or retraining as necessary to maintain standards.

Pay: $30.00-$36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 per week
