Job Overview:

Join our team as the Shop Foreman Heavy Equipment Mechanic and play a crucial role as part of our leadership team, ensuring the optimal performance of heavy equipment vehicles for operations. As a key team member, you will be responsible for working with operations, management, and vendors in maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, moving, scheduling various heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers, and assigning work to other mechanics to support our operations effectively.

•Reporting directly to the Fleet Maintenance Manager•

Responsibilities:

• Mechanical work, maintaining, repairing, inspecting, and troubleshooting various heavy equipment to support our operations effectively: Semi Trucks, trailers, excavators, packers, dozers, trailers, automotive and any other various equipment and attachment types.
• Perform Government Safety Inspections on all Trucks, Trailers, any other required equipment.
• Overseeing and ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency of technician work.
• Collaborate with team members to prioritize workload and ensure timely completion of repairs
• Move, operate, shuttle/transport all equipment as necessary for maintenance operations
• Ordering and receiving parts and supplies
• Professional customer service communications with dispatch, operations, drivers, operators, techs, co-workers, vendors, suppliers and external stakeholders.
• Strong customer service skills when interacting with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Attend and participate in Operational Safety Meetings & adhere to all safety regulations and protocols
• Assist in monitoring inventory levels and replenishing supplies as needed.
• Administrative electronic record keeping for shop, equipment, parts, supplies and technicians.
• Field work, some overtime and travel may be required as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills:

• Proficiency in using hand tools, equipment and various power tools for maintenance and repair tasks
• Strong customer service skills when interacting with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Knowledge of industrial equipment operations and maintenance procedures
• Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes
• Experience with electrical systems and mechanical components in heavy equipment
• Background in mechanical repair and knowledge
• Organizational, Leadership and basic computer skills
• Ability to assess, troubleshoot, adapt, learn, plan alternatives in real time

Requirements:

• Positive Attitude, Good work ethic
• Valid MGI Government Safety Inspection certificate
• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role, Journeyman HDET preferred
• Valid Driver License - Preference Class 1 or Class 3
• Certification or training in heavy equipment maintenance is advantageous
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team efficiently
• Open & Willing to learn new processes, systems, equipment, etc.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

• mechanical: 1 year (preferred)
