Transwestern Truck Centres Shop Foreman



Job Summary:



The shop foreman is a critical leadership role responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the service department. This position will oversee the daily activities of the technicians, timely and high- quality repairs and maintenance on Class 8 Mack truck and other brands. The shop foreman will provide technical guidance, manage workflow, ensure safety compliance, and foster a productive and collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities:

Supervisory and Leadership



Directly supervise and manage a team of truck technicians, assigning tasks and mentoring progress.

Work with service manager to plan and implement company goals and targets

Provide technical guidance and support to technicians, assisting with complex repairs and troubleshooting.

Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback and develop training plans.

Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

Resolve conflicts and address employee concerns promptly and professionally.

Workflow Management



Work with Advisors to schedule and prioritize repair and maintenance repair orders to maximize efficiency and downtime.

Monitor shop capacity and resource allocation to ensure timely completion.

Manage and track shop productivity and efficiency.

Monitor and maintain shop tools and equipment.

Coordinate with service writers and parts department for smooth workflow.

Build clear and clean estimates.

Technical Expertise



Posses in depth knowledge of class 8 Mack truck systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical and hydraulic systems.

Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.

Stay up to date on the latest Mack truck technologies and repair procedures and communicate them to team.

Ensure technicians adhere to Mack Factory repair procedures and specifications.

Perform quality control checks on work performed.

Safety and Compliance



Enforce all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.

Ensure proper use of tools and equipment.

Maintain a clean and well-organized shop.

Ensure compliance with environment, hazardous material and DOT regulations.

Customer Service



Address customer concerns and provide technical explanations as needed.

Ensure all repairs are completed to the customers' satisfaction.

Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers.

Qualifications



Proven experience as a shop foreman or lead technician in a heavy truck repair environment, preferably Mack Trucks.

Strong Technical knowledge on class 8 Trucks.

Excellent leadership, communications and interpersonal skills

Ability to effectively manage and motivate a team

Strong organizational and time management skills

Proficient in diagnostic tools and software

Valid Class 1 or 3 driver's license

Mack Specific training and certifications are a huge plus

Must be flexible with work schedule and hours

Physical Requirements



Ability to lift and move heavy objects

Ability to work in various weather conditions

Ability to stand, bend and kneel for extended periods
