Shop Drawing Engineer
with a strong background in
Mozaik software
,
CNC machine programming
, and
production optimization techniques
. This role is ideal for a senior-level professional with deep knowledge of architectural millwork and a passion for improving assembly efficiency and ensuring top-quality output.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce accurate, detailed, and production-ready shop drawings using Mozaik Cabinet Software.
Design with manufacturability in mind -- simplify builds while maintaining quality and client specifications.
Create CNC machine code and manage tool paths for production using Mozaik and other CAM software.
Identify opportunities for reducing assembly time and improving quality through better design strategies.
Work from architectural plans and specifications to create submittal and production drawings.
Maintain and improve cabinet libraries and templates for efficiency and consistency.
Collaborate with Production Manager, Engineering, Installers, and Shop Floor to ensure clarity and feasibility of designs.
Verify field measurements and adjust designs to match site conditions and job-specific constraints.
Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to streamline workflow and reduce waste.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior drafters or engineers when needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years of experience in architectural millwork drafting and engineering.
Expert-level proficiency with Mozaik Cabinet Software (mandatory).
Proficiency in AutoCAD and ability to work with architectural and technical drawings in multiple formats.
Hands-on experience programming and operating CNC machines for custom wood components.
Proven track record of optimizing shop drawings for ease of assembly and manufacturing efficiency.
Strong knowledge of joinery methods, cabinet construction standards, and finishing techniques.
Ability to interpret and work from architectural drawings, blueprints, and site measurements.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to foresee manufacturing issues before they occur.
Forward-thinking mindset with a strong drive to improve production systems and reduce lead times.
Experience working in lean manufacturing environments is a strong asset.
Legally eligible to work in Canada.
