Stair and Railing Carpenter

Responsibilities

Read drawings and sketches to fully grasp the requirements Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed Use manual and power tools to cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material according to measurements Build staircases and railings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items Lay out materials, ensuring they are leveled and compatible Assemble stairs, railings/other components and install them where designated Uphold high-quality workmanship Maintain shop cleanliness and equipment

Requirements and skills

Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, tape measure, etc.) Ability to read technical documents and drawings Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times Good ability to speak, write, and read in English Good working math skills Good physical condition and endurance Experience with stair and rail carpentry is an asset but not a requirement

Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
