: Shop Assistant

Summary of Position:

We're looking for a reliable and hard-working individual to join our team and help keep our shop running smoothly. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys varied tasks, working with tools, and helping skilled tradespeople keep the shop organized and efficient.

Responsibilities:

Keep the shop and work areas clean, safe, and organized.

Organize and maintain tools, materials, and hardware.

Help with loading, unloading and material handling.

Assist tradespeople with prep work and cleanup.

Run errands and deliver parts/supplies.

Support tradespeople with general tasks.

Perform basic maintenance and repairs as needed.

Light material handling and basic tool maintenance.

Help with inventory tracking and restocking.

Requirements:

Must have the ability to perform physically demanding work.

Good communication skills - verbal English (requirement) and French (asset).

Have experience/be comfortable using hand and power tools including, but not limited to hammers, drills, chainsaws, skill saws, etc.

Willingness to take direction and work independently when needed.

Punctual, dependable and detail orientated.

Must have a valid G driver's license with a clean driving record.

Have a willingness to learn.

Valid CSA B335-compliant forklift theory training (Asset).

Practical skills evaluation on forklift type (Asset).

Working at Heights certification (Asset).

Health and Safety Worker Awareness training (Asset).

Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS 2015) (Asset).

At least 2 years experience in construction (Asset).

Safety-minded and respectful in a team environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
