Victory Stone is expanding once more and requires a new team member to join our PEI team. We are expanding here in PEI and require a highly motivated and hard working individual to join our team as a stone fabricator.

This individual will be exposed to all aspects of stone fabrication, but will primarily work with assisting handling of stone slabs with specialized handling equipment, setting up and loading various types of CNC, preparing fabricated projects for installation, equipment maintenance, stone repairs, quality control and general stone fabrication

The ideal candidate will be reliable, hardworking, self motivated with great attention to detail and the ability to problem solve, be a team player, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines all while ensuring the proper and efficient flow of stone materials through the fabrication shop.

The candidate will need to have a high level of focus while working in a high paced environment while maintaining quality and attention to detail.

Main Duties will include, but not limited to;

- Assist with loading and unloading, with overhead jib crane, of cut to size stone and stone slabs onto CNC machines for the CNC operator to start the CNC machine with minimal down time of equipment

- Organize, prepare and prioritize various projects based on project dead lines, material complexities, machinery constraints and installation team demands

- Adjust work flow of projects to ensure efficient use of machinery during periods of high demand

- Carry out general maintenance and preventive maintenance on various types of tools and equipment to ensure down time is kept to a minimal

- Communicate and coordinate information with front office staff, installation team and other staff members to allow for efficient and clear communication of important information to ensure projects are kept on schedule

- Learn characteristics of various types of natural and engineered stone products.

- Cut, polish and shape different types of man-made and natural stone

- Learn installation of stone countertops on various types of job sites

- Interest in working in, or moving to, Halifax Nova Scotia would be considered a asset.

- Individual with a strong desire to learn, hard work ethic and reliability is considered an asset to this position.

- English and/or spanish preferred, however not required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 50 per week
