We are currently seeking a Shipping/Receiving Supervisor to join our dynamic team with a family owned company in the steel industry located in Kitchener. The ideal candidate will receive three months of comprehensive training for software and computer requirements.

Straight Day Shift Monday to Thursday: 7:00 am to 4:30 pm Friday: 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
$25-27 an hour pending experience
Permanent position open immediately
Benefits available after 6 months
Opportunity for 4 hours overtime/ wk throughout the year
Overtime pay after 42 hoursResponsibilities
Software Training: Acquire proficiency in specialized shipping/receiving software and demonstrate a willingness to learn new tools.
Computer Literacy: Possess strong computer skills with experience in Excel and Word, and the ability to adapt to new software.
Communication Skills: Display effective verbal communication skills for regular interaction with customers and suppliers over the phone.
Outdoor Responsibilities: Engage in organizing and verifying shipments, which may require some outdoor time.
Equipment Operation: Utilize a lift truck for organizing shipments when necessary due to absence or high workload in the department.
Supervisory Experience: Previous supervision experience is an asset.
Physical Requirements: Lift and handle packages up to 50 lbs regularly.Math Skills: Demonstrate strong math skills for counting and maintaining inventory accurately.Reporting Structure: Report directly to the Sales and Logistics Manager.Qualifications
Computer literate with proficiency in Excel and Word
Ability to use email and possess excellent verbal communication skills
Experience with shipping/receiving software is a plus
Past supervision experience is an asset
Lift truck driving experience is beneficial
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks
