We currently have a key role opportunity, for a

Shipping Supervisor

within our

Mississauga

furtherprocessing facility to complement our production activities that will allow continued growth within our business.

Your intrinsic character will be driven with self-initiative and a steadfast commitment using hands-on food shipping and receiving experience while being qualified and ambitious to ensure that our shipping processes, products and employees comply with all governing regulations, and customer expectations surrounding Food Safety on product shipping and receiving. The role will supervise all aspects of the shipping, receiving and cooler departments, training and ensuring all staff are working in compliance with all safe work practices, and adherence to company procedures and rules.

Job Responsibilities



1) Ensures all equipment is operational prior to start up and immediately report any equipment issues to maintenance.

2) Report any team member absences to the Production Manager and/or HR.

3) Plan and schedule employee's breaks and lunches as per the workload of the day.

4) Make sure all daily departmental paperwork is accurately completed.

5) Responsible for the training and re-training of all shipping and cooler employees.

6) Ensure that all start-up and shut down procedures are completed daily.

7) Monitor that all employees are adhering to all departmental food safety and GMP's.

8) Ensure that all employees are wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and working in a safe manner.

9) Immediately report any issues or concerns to the Production Manager. Maintain a continuous improvements mind set.

11) Liaison with the Assistant Production Manager and Production Supervisor daily to ensure any old product is processed with priority.

12) Delegate or prepare the shipping orders, building pallets for trips, load trucks, dispatch and keep the schedule updated with all the "Already Shipped" products and received raw products.

13) Maintain a high degree of internal communication with other departments, such as sales and logistics.

14) Support Production Manager during off site absence or vacation periods.

Qualifications:


- Previous 3-5 years supervisory experience in shipping and receiving required.

- Completed post-secondary education preferable in logistics (shipping and receiving).
- Previous related work experience in Poultry or meat processing environment is required.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods of time.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues is desirable.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations with a steadfast commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
