About The Opportunity Position Summary
Supervises workers who confirm and record the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipping, and load and unload trucks. Also responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport of materials. A level II supervisor has authority for personnel actions and oversees most day to day operations of group.
Ensures adequate inventory of materials and products in accordance with inventory cycles and organizational philosophy. . Coordinates and manages daily physical cycle counts.
Supervises the activities of inventory & production personnel engaged in all facets of the manufacturing function. Supervises workers who confirm and record the receipt of shipments, prepare items for shipping, and load and unload trucks. Also responsible for managing the inter-departmental transport of materials.
Essential Job Functions
The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare all shipping and receiving documents in a timely and accurate manner
  • Hands-on supervisor that assists in shipping & receiving, unloading and loading trucks, checking in materials or product, and matches ASN and BOM
  • Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) driven
  • Verify customer manifest, work order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved gathered or shipped
  • Coordinate dock traffic, ensures that all trucks must sign in and out of facility
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer programs
  • Input data into shipping and receiving schedule
  • Confer with managers inside and outside the distribution center to ensure coordination of other functions such as production, inventory management and quality assurance
  • Ensures and supports to make sure Food safety, Quality, HACCP and GMP is always followed
  • Implements inventory management strategies to assure company objectives in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, customer service, cost and profitability
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance management to develop and improve inventory management function
  • Manages and tracks product inventories, providing direction on work in process, finished goods and aged inventories to assure financial reconciliation and inventory integrity
  • Hands-on supervisor that assists in shipping & receiving, unloading and loading trucks, checking in materials or product, and matches ASN and BOM
  • Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) driven
  • Verify customer manifest, work order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved gathered or shipped
  • Directs and prioritizes the daily activities including shop card review, cycle counts, audits, damaged material management, and waste tracking and disposal
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management process and information flow
  • Ensures that site operates in an efficient, cost effective manner so as to achieve production quotas in accordance with client product specifications as directed by Site Manager.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of and ability to use and influence organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of strategies and tools for controlling and optimizing the factors that lie between the purchase of raw materials and delivery of finished products
  • Ability to effectively manage the business relationship and transactions with the suppliers of raw materials or product components
  • Knowledge of issues and considerations for effectively managing local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work in progress and finished goods
  • Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials throughout the manufacturing cycle
  • Knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or facility
Education & Experience
  • High School or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Primarily works in a production and /or warehouse setting
  • Frequent walking and standing required
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
