Shipping and Receiving Technician

Department:

YYC Shipping

Reports to:

Logistics Manager

Work Schedule:

8 Hours; Day Shifts - Monday to Friday

This position Prepares orders by processing and supplying requests, pulling materials, packing, wrapping and labelling pallets, and placing material in staging area. Perform receiving inspections on incoming orders to ensure requirements are met; ensures incoming items are properly identified before being released.

Duties:

\xc2\xb7 Unload incoming material shipments and store efficiently in designated locations

\xc2\xb7 Organize and identify stock and maintain inventory; restock materials as required

\xc2\xb7 Performing receiving inspections on materials for defects and damage

\xc2\xb7 Organize space in the warehouse

\xc2\xb7 Maintain quality service by following organization standards

\xc2\xb7 Adhere to health, safety, and quality policies, as well as all company policies and procedures

\xc2\xb7 Arrange shipment of product as required by order documentation in an accurate and timely based on commitments made to the customer

\xc2\xb7 Receiving product accurately and timely so the product is available for order fulfillment as soon as possible

\xc2\xb7 Assist in inventory management through documentation processes and yearly inventory counts, as well as monthly cycle counts

\xc2\xb7 Responding to any shipping discrepancies in a timely manner based on service level commitments

\xc2\xb7 Operate forklift in a safe manner; this includes utilizing proper safety precautions to ensure equipment and loads in the company forklift are safely secured for transportation

\xc2\xb7 Participate in training and safety meetings as required

\xc2\xb7 Other duties as required

Qualifications/Requirements

\xc2\xb7 Stand or walk for long periods of time

\xc2\xb7 Forklift operator certification

\xc2\xb7 Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs, lift items weighing more than 50 lbs with assistance from other workers, forklift and/or overhead hoist

\xc2\xb7 Ability to work with others in a fast paced environment to achieve job goals

\xc2\xb7 Work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail

\xc2\xb7 Enthusiastic, responsible, able to work unsupervised and self-motivated

\xc2\xb7 Good physical fitness

\xc2\xb7 Requires attention to detail, precision and accuracy

\xc2\xb7 Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

\xc2\xb7 Must be proficient in written and spoken English to Grade 12 standard

\xc2\xb7 Good phone manner/writing skills

\xc2\xb7 Basic computer skills (MS office including Excel and Outlook)

Pay:

Pay is dependent on experience. We offer employer paid benefits and an RRSP matching program to eligible employees.
