Day Shift, Monday to Friday, 42 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm; Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm). Overtime is paid after 42 hours. Location is on the bus route.

Responsibilities:



Loading and unloading of all trucks (includes planning for upcoming shipment dates) Incoming and final inspection (check against packing slip) Ensure accuracy and completeness of all incoming and outgoing paperwork Pack goods to be shipped (includes fabricating skids as required) Re-prioritize shipments (based on information from the Plant Supervisor, Plant Manager or delegate) Record shortages and reject damaged goods Maintain internal record-keeping system Complete daily forklift inspection Contact customers by email and telephone as needed (for example, to get shipping instructions or to notify the customer the order is ready for pick up) and create shipping documents as needed Arrange shipments and coordinate transportation with outside carriers (courier, transport) (may also involve getting freight quotes for customers and Sales) Ensure information is updated in our ERP system (shipment date, size and carrier) Actively participate in improving shipping processes and procedures Affix identifying information and shipping instructions on shipments Unpack goods received (identify and store product as required) Use of production manufacturing equipment (belt sander, saw, grinder, press) Assembly of conveyor components (including rollers) Helping other departments as required (degreasing, cleaning, assembly) General housekeeping duties (keep the area in department clean and free of slip/trip hazards)

Required Skills:



Minimum 1 year of experience as a Shipper/Receiver/Assistant capacity (or similar) 1-3 years' experience using Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English (both written and verbal) - French is an asset Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy Organizational and time management skills Must be able to multi-task and prioritize Works well in a team environment Positive attitude and ability to problem solve Past experience in using an ERP system is an asset Required to have a valid forklift license

Minimum Qualifications:



Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to push and pull a minimum of 100lbs. Must be able to work proficiently with hands and wrists and be able to grasp objects Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time Must be able to operate machinery Must provide CSA approved steel toe shoes (measure a min of 8" from the floor to the top side) Must be able to pass mandatory measuring, attention to detail and Health & Safety testing Must be able to read a tape measure
