About the role



As a Shipper and Packaging Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the shipping and packaging operations within RAM. The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for ensuring the timely, efficient, and accurate shipment of our products while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Responsibilities



Leadership



Lead and motivate a team of shipping and packaging employees. Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to team members. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Shipping Operations



Oversee the shipping process, including order fulfilment, packing, and dispatching of products. Coordinate and schedule shipments to meet customer delivery deadlines. Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and documentation requirements. Coordinate with logistics partners to optimize shipping schedules and ensure timely deliveries. Responsible for processing damage claims and coordinating the return shipment of damaged products back to the shop. Oversee receiving operations and ensure that incoming products are accurately received and stored in the correct locations. Implement best practices for shipping efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Packaging



Ensure that all products are packaged securely and in compliance with industry standards and regulations. Implement and maintain quality control measures to minimize shipping errors and damages. Collaborate with relevant teams to address and resolve packaging-related issues. Work closely with engineering and production teams to enhance packaging designs. Optimize packaging materials to reduce costs without compromising quality. Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity of packaged products. Ensure the production priority list is followed and that shipments are dispatched on schedule to reach customers on time.

Customer Relationship Management:



Communicate with customers regarding shipping schedules, tracking information, and delivery updates. Address customer inquiries and concerns related to shipping and packaging. Liaise with the sales team to address shipping-related inquiries. Implement customer-centric shipping solutions to enhance overall satisfaction.

Customs and Regulatory Compliance:



Stay informed about international trade regulations and customs procedures including shipping regulations and industry standards. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations in the movement of goods.

Skills & Qualifications



Minimum of 7 years of experience in a shipping and packaging role within the manufacturing industry. Proven leadership experience, including team management and development. Strong understanding of shipping regulations and compliance standards in the North American market. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Valid forklift license and experience with pallet jacks, lift trucks, or other material handling equipment. Proficient computer skills, including: Booking shipments via carrier websites or portals, Using software to request and manage freight quotes, Creating customs/export documentation Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality control.
