Job Description

North American Storage has an immediate opening for a full-time shipper/receiver who can work independently. You will be part of a team responsible for all incoming/outgoing shipments and inventory.

This position requires an extremely organized individual who can work and communicate well with others, and meet deadlines in a busy manufacturing warehouse and yard.

This position requires the successful candidate to work in all weather conditions (hot, cold, windy and rain).

Hours of work are Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, overtime as required.

This position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Skills & Knowledge

In depth knowledge of industrial steel racking components and accessories The ability to communicate with others (internally and externally) Making informed decisions in a timely fashion Safety conscious and able to work well as part of a team Flexibility to adapt to demanding workload, tight deadlines and priorities Strong knowledge of computers

Responsibilities include:

Fill out daily forklift inspection sheet, and turn into maintenance when there are identified concerns/issues Determine method of shipment and prepare bills of lading and other necessary shipping documents using computer Load and unload various materials from both flat decks and vans Verify incoming goods against invoices or other receiving documents, record shortages, and reject damaged goods Operate forklifts, pallet jacks or other material handling equipment to load, unload, transport and store materials Stage materials in the yard for shipping Stage incoming material for material handler to access easily Ensure all housekeeping guidelines are always followed Ensure safety rules and regulations are always followed, as well as company policies Pick all necessary hardware and accessories for all shipments Load hardware bins as required Inform purchaser of low levels of hardware to be re-ordered Schedule receiving and shipping times Learns and applies all company policies, safety rules and regulations Follow all safe work polices and procedures

Qualifications

5 years experience working in shipping and receiving. Forklift experience (certified forklift ticket through a third party company) Experience material handling oversized dimensions and loads(Up to 40 foot lengths). Experience moving metal materials outdoors in winter.
