Job Title: Shipper/Receiver

Reports To: Senior Manager, Production and Warehouse, Warehouse supervisor

Work Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Since then, we have become a HACCP certified food processor, launched an extraordinary lineup of new soups, expanded our distribution across BC and also co-manufactured food products for numerous 3rd party customers.

Position Summary:



The Shipper/Receiver manages the flow of goods in and out of the facility, handling shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order processing. This role ensures inventory accuracy, proper storage of incoming materials, and organization of the warehouse. Responsibilities include loading and unloading materials, verifying incoming shipments for accuracy, and ensuring outgoing orders contain the correct materials.

Key Responsibilities:



Receive and Inspect Shipments: Unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, reporting any discrepancies or damages.

Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, build skids, wrap, and process paperwork for customer orders with accuracy and attention to detail.

Shipping Documentation: Generate shipping and variable data labels; prepare and sign off on shipping documents such as bills of lading and invoices.

Forklift Operations: Use forklift and other handling equipment for material transport within the warehouse and plant areas.

Transfers: Prepare physical shipments to other locations and enter data into Quickbooks

Inventory Tracking: Keep secure records of inventory, monitoring levels to prevent stock-outs or overstock, and updating in ERP and e-commerce systems.

Stock Replenishment: Replenish finished products weekly, receive products from production, and monitor min/max inventory levels.

Inventory Counts: Conduct cycle and physical inventory counts regularly.

Product Disposal and Returns: Oversee the proper disposal of leftover packing materials and hazardous waste.

Maintain a Clean Work Area: Ensure the workspace is free of debris and obstructions, keeping warehouse aisles clear and emergency exits accessible.

Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety guidelines (including HACCP food safety), report accidents or unsafe conditions, use PPE appropriately, and participate in safety training and meetings.

Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and oversee the servicing of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, and ensure adequate propane supply.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with customer service, freight, and delivery companies to manage shipments and resolve issues promptly.

Communication: Communicate effectively and professionally, establishing productive relationships with team members and external partners.

Support Team Goals: Actively contribute to a positive team environment, demonstrating professionalism, pride in work, and adaptability to changing priorities.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma (Grade 12) required.

5+ years of warehousing experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

Familiarity with domestic shipping networks.

Proficiency in shipping software

Forklift Operator Certification and Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract would be an asset.

Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of inventory management systems, shipping software, and forklift operation.

Organization and Time Management: Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Problem-Solving: Ability to handle high-pressure situations, adapt to changing priorities, and resolve shipping issues quickly.

Physical Stamina: Physically fit, able to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with safety protocols, including WHMIS, PPE, and MHE operation.

Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Integrity and Ethics: High standards of business ethics, integrity, and honesty.

Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and able to learn vendor and e-commerce software.

This role requires flexibility to take on additional duties to support the team and contribute to the company's growth objectives as needed.

$22-23 hourly
