Shipper/Receiver





Reporting to the Shipping Coordinator, the Shipper / Receiver must ensure all orders are assembled and ready to load according to shipping schedule and assist in loading and unloading trucks when necessary. The Shipper / Receiver will be responsible for following established food safety and quality procedures. Provisions may be made to cover the absence of the employee in this position.


Responsibilities

Ensure all customer orders are complete, documentation is correct and distributed and product is shipped according to delivery schedule, notifying Shipping Coordinator immediately of any shortages. Having product location knowledge, selects, assembles and transports to loading dock according to shipping schedule. Ensure product rotation - first in, first out. Adhere to food safety and HACCP procedures. Responsible for slotting of all frozen product and dry goods in a careful and timely manner. Ensure a cardboard sheet is placed between double stacked skids. Load and unload trucks, as required ensuring documentation is correct. Maintain and organize freezer and dock applying proper housekeeping standards and reporting all damages immediately. Report immediately to a supervisor if the forklift or hand truck is not working properly. Assist in taking freezer inventory cycle counts. Responsible for safe operation of forklifts and hand trucks. Participate in training programs for relevant food safety & HACCP procedures, product quality requirements, equipment & process technology. Contribute to the overall Health and Safety of yourself and all team members. Participate in JHSC initiatives and follow established policies as outlined in the Health and Safety policies. Report all accidents, incidents and near misses to your Supervisor and a Member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee. Other duties as directed by Shipping Supervisor

Qualifications




Computer, RF scanner and keyboarding skills Strong mathematical and organization skills Must be able to manually lift up to 28kgs (60 lbs) Must be dependable and hold an above average attendance record Good communication and interpersonal skills to create a team environment Ability to work well under pressure with little supervision Responsible to maintain a forklift license Be able to work in a cold environment for extended periods of time Flexible work schedule of mornings, afternoons and weekends

Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment

Pay Rate:

$21.65 to $22.65 per hour
