Summary:



The role of the warehouse operative is crucial in the control of our receiving and shipping of materials and product. The warehouse operative is the first point of contact in our materials flow, and as such, the individual must pay due care and attention to the quality and integrity of our shipping/receiving/handling/and storage. This role also includes the operation of heavy equipment, therefore, a strong safety awareness is essential to promote a safe working environment, and culture for all. Our Food Safety & Quality standards require good housekeeping, and particularly significant sanitation by all members of the warehouse team.

The role is a key member of the operations team, and needs good communication skills to be a service provider to the production teams; ensuring a robust and controlled flow of materials following process and procedures at all times.

This position is for the

afternoon shift 2:00PM - 10:30PM MST.



Responsibilities/ Duties:



Careful and safe handling of raw materials

Check lot codes, and dates on ingredients

Ensure the correct rotation of raw materials on a first expired first out basis

Follow HACCP guidelines, GMP's and company policies and procedures to meet our food safety & quality standards

Visual and Physical check of all deliveries, inline with our food safety and quality procedures

Alert Operations and QA to any deviations in the expectations of raw materials or finished goods

Control of Allergens as per our Allergen policy, ensuring strict storage rules are adhered to, whilst also checking the compliance of this

Safe handling of chemicals required for the cleaning process, including the operation of the floor scrubber

Follow our safety standards, using the correct PPE (personal protective equipment) as needed at all times

Operate a Sit-down and Narrow Aisle Stand-up Forklift or Electric Ride-on Pallet Jack in a safe manner to move product throughout the facility

Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations

Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to production areas

Conduct cycle counting of physical inventory

Regular disposal of garbage to our industrial bin using the sit-down forklift and taking cardboard outside to the recycling bin in a timely manner

Ensure that the warehouse is kept clean at all times, including sweeping/ mopping/ cleaning of spillages/ and the operation of the floor scrubber

Keep outside areas clean, tidy and organised, e.g. storage of cardboard bales and totes for collection

Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cleaning and sanitizing of the warehouse including coolers and freezers

Work in a freezer for extended periods of time

Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times

Sort and distribute incoming shipments on racks, shelves, or in bins

Match incoming product with purchase orders, completing transactions in NAV for matching of PO's to delivery, and ultimate approval for AP Invoices

Inspect product to ensure saleable condition with acceptable code dating

Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies

Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off

Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method, especially the identification of allergens

Perform other duties as assigned

Skill Requirements:



Able to physically inspect inbound and outbound product

Exposure to a noisy and cool environment, including outside weather conditions for short periods of time

The work week is Monday to Friday - 8.5 hours each day, occasional weekend work required.

The shift timing will be assigned to each team member

Within each 8.5 hour shift, the employee is entitled to two (2) - 15 minute paid breaks and one (1)- 30 minute un-paid lunch break

Able to lift or move up to 50 lbs frequently

Able to lift or move up to 100 pounds occasionally

Frequent standing and walking

Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals

Exposure to elements such as noise, dust, odours, fumes and oil

Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently

Attention to detail in all areas of work

Good organizational, time management and prioritization skills

Strong work ethic and positive team attitudes

Qualification Requirements:



High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Sit-down and Narrow Aisle Stand-up Forklift and Electric Ride-on Pallet Jack experience

Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, quality procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Able to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing

Basic mathematical skills

Knowledge of filling out waybills and bills of lading and international shipments

Able to weigh and measure items

Working knowledge of safe lifting methods

Computer literacy, including working skills of Microsoft Office and e-mail
