POSITION OVERVIEW



The Shipper/Receiver is required to manage the shipment and the receiving of goods within Simson-Maxwell's Edmonton location. The Shipper/Receiver ensures the accurate and timely movement of goods, maintaining proper documentation, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as appropriate.

The Shipper/Receiver of Simson-Maxwell will develop, foster, and maintain good business and/or working relationships with the following:

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



In this role, you will contribute in the following ways:

The Shipper/Receiver ships, receives, and records the movement of parts, supplies, materials, equipment, and stock to and from the business. The Shipper/Receiver loads/unloads heavy engines and assembles skids/pallets for customer orders. Determine method of shipment and prepare packing slips, invoices, and other shipping documents Maintain internal record-keeping systems Inspect and verify incoming shipments against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged items Assemble containers, crates, and packaged goods for shipment; prepare and affix identifying information and shipping instructions Unpack and route goods to appropriate storage areas Keep track of all inbounds Manage the Shipping/Receiving floor arrangement of all equipment Work with parts department for receiving/shipping and maintain an updated logbooks Schedule pickup of shipments Process damage claims that have occurred during transportation Procure competitive quotes from transport companies Execute proper shipping procedures for transportation of dangerous such as coolant, oil, batteries Follow all safe storage and handling procedures for various chemicals and materials Use forklifts, hand trucks or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods Maintain an organized facility and paperwork

QUALIFICATIONS



Minimum 2 years' experience in warehouse parts handling, shipping/receiving, and inventory management Forklift License with minimum 2 years' experience Must possess computer proficiency, including familiarity with Word and Excel Knowledge of Purolator, Fed Ex, and transport companies' procedures Physically able to complete job tasks such as climbing ladders, pulling tarps, and lifting 50-60 lbs regularly Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions Dedicated to safety

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
