Overview

Commercial Truck Equipment is looking to add a Full-Time Permanent

Shipper/Receiver

to our Delta, BC Team.

The Shipper/Receiver is a vital employee at the branch, ensuring the smooth operation of packages and freight into and out of the branch. The Shipper/Receiver also assists with other logistics support tasks such as warehouse and yard maintenance, local parts deliveries, and some production support tasks. Reporting to the Parts Manager, an independent, organized, detail and safety-oriented individual with knowledge of warehousing would be an ideal candidate for this position. The successful candidate must have a valid Class 5 driver's licence, CSA Standard B335-15 - Industrial Lift Truck Operator Training, and be willing to work outdoors in all conditions. This is a non-shift-work position, and we encourage all candidates with interest and appropriate knowledge and experience to apply.

Responsibilities and Duties

Maintaining an organized yard and warehouse using a forklift Loading and unloading trucks/trailers with a forklift Physically receiving equipment and material and putting into applicable location as directed Packaging and sending packages and freight, arranging pickups, and completing the appropriate paperwork for shipments Ensuring accurate receipts and performing quality control inspections of incoming purchase order goods Provision of support to production when required General labour duties such as warehouse and yard maintenance as required Following all health and safety procedures and regulations as directed by the employer

Qualifications and Experience

We are urgently hiring for this role. Early applicants will be at a significant advantage. The successful applicant will have a mix of the following qualifications and experience. Commercial is looking for someone who has the experience to make a smooth transition into this position and hit the ground running. We will consider candidates from all backgrounds and industries, providing familiarization and training for the right candidate.

Valid Class-5 driver's license is mandatory, licensure above Class 5 is considered an asset. A driver's abstract may be required Experience in customer service is considered a major asset CSA Standard B335-15 - Industrial Lift Truck Operator Training or equivalent is required Post-secondary education in logistics, warehouse, or transportation is an asset Knowledge of the truck or heavy equipment industry would be beneficial
