Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in our warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient handling of incoming and outgoing shipments. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

PURPOSE OF ROLE:



The Shipper/Receiver will be responsible for managing the shipping and receiving functions, ensuring that materials and products are accurately processed and tracked through our inventory system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



Shipping Duties:



Order Fulfillment:

Prepare and package outgoing orders according to specifications, ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Documentation:

Generate shipping documents, including packing slips, bills of lading, and customs paperwork as required.

Logistics Coordination:

Arrange for carrier pick-ups and manage shipping schedules to ensure timely delivery of products.

Record Keeping:

Update inventory records and tracking systems to reflect outgoing shipments accurately.

Receiving Duties:



Incoming Shipments:

Inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy and quality.

Documentation Handling:

Complete receiving documents and maintain accurate records of received goods.

Quality Control:

Report any discrepancies, damages, or defects to the appropriate personnel and assist in resolving issues.

Storage Management:

Properly store received materials in designated areas and ensure inventory is organized and easily accessible.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:



Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.

Experience:

Previous experience in shipping and receiving, preferably in a manufacturing environment, is highly desirable.

Skills:

Strong computer skills, attention to detail, and accuracy. Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Basic mathematical skills for inventory calculations. Ability to operate a pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods. Must be capable of performing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:



The position requires work in a light manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. Safety protocols must be followed at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This role requires regular interaction with the Inventory Coordinator, Purchasing & the Kitter.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
