Job Overview

The Shipper is responsible for ensuring accurate and seamless outgoing and incoming shipments. He/she must load/unload shipments regularly, with the capability of repetitive heavy lifting, and use any necessary equipment, e.g. electric pallet jack, forklift, etc. Other responsibilities will include the inspection of outgoing shipments to verify contents and quality. Inventory management and vendor relations with shipping companies are essential functions for this position.

Duties

Processes all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking of shipped and incoming products Uses order entry, warehouse management system, and truck loading systems Maintains strict control over inventory levels in order to meet internal and external demand of product Reports discrepancies to team leader Operates a forklift or electric pallet jack in a safe manner to move product Inspects product to ensure saleable condition with acceptable code dating Maintains organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations Oversees the secure and accurate loading of shipments Prepares shipping dock to transfer out product Matches product with shipping orders using first-in, first-out (FIFO) or customer specs; completes in a timely, accurate manner Perform quality audits of the condition of goods for outgoing items prior to signing off

Requirements

Previous experience in shipping and receiving operations is ideal. Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and computers. Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately fulfill orders. Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading shipments. Excellent organizational skills with a focus on efficiency and productivity. A team-oriented mindset with effective communication skills. Familiarity with order fulfillment processes is a plus.

Pay: $18.87-$26.17 per hour
