Job Description

The individual in the Shipping and Receiving role is responsible for managing the daily flow of materials and products in and out of our facility. The successful applicant will be highly skilled, with excellent attention to detail allowing them to play a key role in meeting the manufacturing demands of East Lake Manufacturing.

This role is a dynamic role that will evolve to fit the needs of a quickly growing company. The incumbent will be

highly organized and have a strong understanding of the fabrication process and materials

Wage range is negotiable based on experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

(include but are not limited to)

Receiving

Verifying the accuracy of incoming shipments against purchase orders, invoices and packing slips. Checking for damages or discrepancies Processing and recording all receiving information, including dates, quantities, MTR information and any issues found Properly storing received materials in designated areas, ensuring they are organized, marked for identification and easily accessible Notifying relevant department or individuals about incoming shipments and any issues encountered Using forklifts and pallet jacks to unload, move and store materials safely. Competency operating a 4000-8000 pound sit down forklift is essential.

Shipping

Packing and preparing outgoing shipments according to customer order or production requirements Creating and processing shipping documents, such as bills of lading, packing slips and shipping labels Arranging for transportation with carriers and scheduling pickups and deliveries Updating inventory records to reflect outgoing shipments and maintaining accurate stock levels Ensuring that items are properly packaged and labeled for safe and efficient transportation Conducting a final check of outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and completeness

General Responsibilities

Must maintain a clean and organized workspace keeping the shipping and receiving area clean, safe and organized Maintain accurate records of all inventory both incoming and outgoing in JobBoss software Follow all safety procedures and guidelines related to handling of materials and operating equipment Effectively communicate with internal departments, suppliers, and carriers to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations. Identify and resolve issues or discrepancies related to the shipment or inventory

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent organizational skills. Proficient with computers and quick to learn new software. Experience with JobBoss and the Microsoft Suite is preferred Familiarity with various grades of metal and aluminum Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving a minimum of 50lbs Able to work indoors and outdoors in inclement weather conditions Knowledge and proper use of all PPE (boots, glasses, gloves, etc.) Strong verbal and written communications skills. Willingness and ability to work overtime if needed based on the demands of the job Reliable transportation to and from work

Education, Training, and Experience

Previous experience with shipping and receiving within a metal fabrication environment is an asset. Familiarity with supply chain management would be beneficial Forklift experience and competency is a must Current WHIMIS 2015 training
